we went to california for the annual petrology field trip. it was a good trip, though exhausting and freezing cold. there was a point on a ridge where it was about 40° with 100-110 mph wind. i got a badass picture of mono lake and the sierras from that ridge though. and then the next morning, it was 25°, 60mph wind, and snowing. it was the kind of cold that was painful. so that part wasn't so much fun. but, at least we weren't camping. and, i got some cool rocks and even made it through security with them. some of my favorite pictures are below. the rest are at facebook, and the ones of just the scenery are at flickr.
