em and i went to austin last weekend and saw a friend of mine from high school, jenn. she was a senior when i was a freshman and i hadn't seen her in coming up on 12 years. it was really good to see her, and she had me take portraits of her kiddos, alex (3 years) and kylie (11 months). alex was less than cooperative, but the main point was getting pictures of kylie anyway, so it wasn't a big deal. we were going to take them outside at the botanical gardens in austin, but a cold front came in so it was cold with 30-40 mph winds. we decided to do the pictures in jenn's living room, with a big black sheet draped from the mantle onto the floor. jenn loved how they turned out and showed them to all of her friends, who now want to hire me to take pictures of their kids the next time i'm in town. so that's exciting. all the pictures are here, but my favorites are below.
