elections - linky linky
Nov. 8th, 2006 10:49 pmthe democrats have won both the house and the senate. so now bush won't have so much power and hopefully things will improve. and my favorite article on cnn.com this year: the world rejoices at the democratic win. has some great quotes like, "In an extraordinary joint statement, more than 200 Socialist members of the European Parliament hailed the American election results as 'the beginning of the end of a six-year nightmare for the world' and gloated that they left the Bush administration 'seriously weakened.'" and donald rumsfeld resigned. and bush wants to replace him with a guy named gates, who is president of texas a&m university. a damn aggie! nooooo! and speaking of aggies, rick perry is still governor of texas. i voted for kinky! i tried! and we now have the first female speaker of the house. about damn time. bush is already trying to make peace with her and is taking responsibility for the massive change in power in both houses. which is good. since the whole election was the country standing up and saying we don't like bush or what he's doing and that he needs less power so we're going to take it away. and, from the onion: politicians sweep midterm elections.
